Who we are

IT IS HARD TO BECOME A LEADER BUT IT IS MUCH HARDER TO BE A LEADER

ILLA International, LLC., a U.S. company, is a professional research and engineering team who has been in the phenol business for over 30 years and has become a worldwide leader in phenol technology.

ILLA’s professional status has enabled the company to approach the world market in 1992 and keep a firm position in the field ever since. In 1997-2001, ILLA made another breakthrough by implementing its novel developments at the cumene oxidation stage (achieving selectivity of 94.5-95 mol%), at the CHP cleavage stage (achieving AMS yield of 92.5 mol%), and in phenol purification at the largest phenol facilities in the world. ILLA has far surpassed all other competitive technologies in terms of selectivity and safety level of the phenol process. For example, a transfer from any of the common two-step cleavage process to ILLA’s two-step process provides a 30 kg/t cumene saving, making the process revamp highly efficient and resulting in the lowest feed consumption per ton of product phenol.

The total phenol capacity based on ILLA’s technologies approaches 30% of the worldwide phenol production. ILLA International has been successful in implementing its proprietary technologies at phenol plants all over the world, including large and medium capacity plants such as INEOS (Germany, Belgium, USA), SABIC (former General Electric, USA), FCFC (Taiwan), and Borealis (Finland), and small capacity plants in Mexico and Russia.

We achieved success due to the following factors:

      -

Establishment of a state-of-the-art research phenol center

      -

Collaboration between the brightest scientists and applied chemists

      -

Creation and maintenance of a state-of-the-art engineering level by involving the best engineers from Russia and USA

For its clients, ILLA performs a wide range of services, including: laboratory research and process simulations, baseline studies and troubleshooting of ongoing operations at existing phenol plants, provision of basic engineering design (PDP/BEP) followed by implementation and start-up of the process.

ILLA is constantly engaged in training of personnel operating its processes, and in development of new and better analytical methods and computer programs (providing the reliability and safety of the unique technologies). Our intellectual property is covered with many patents (totally over 130 patents and additional pending applications).

BE THE LEADER WITH ILLA!
