Between 1993 and 2007, ILLA has far surpassed all the competitive technologies, in terms of selectivity achieved in real industrial conditions. Most importantly, ILLAs technologies have the highest safety level, as ILLA has developed and actually implemented a proprietary concept of protection and maintaining steady-state operation of the process, a concept that meets the highest requirements for safe operation to be applied at industrial objects of this new century.

There is a very wide range of companies that successfully utilize our technologies. Such companies, that include GENERAL ELECTRIC PLASTICS (USA), INEOS GmbH (Germany), INEOS Phenol Inc. (USA), FENOQUIMIA (Mexico), and Formosa Chemicals and Fiber Corporation (Taiwan), as well as several plants in Russia, have successfully revamped their phenol plants using phenol technologies developed by ILLA.

2012

Location: Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation Phenol Plant in Kashima, Ibaraki pref., Japan

Capacity: 280 MTA PNL

Project Scope: Complete replacement of MCC previously operated two-step process of technical CHP Cleavage in boiling acetone medium using ILLAs advanced two-step process of homogeneous CHP cleavage, FAN-2000TM, aiming at drastic increase of the total selectivity and safety level of the phenol plant. The Basic Design is planned to be completed by ILLA in 2012.The project is due for completion by 2014.

Actual results: For 1999-2005, the plant capacity was expanded using ILLAs CHP cleavage process (IF-96):

Gladbeck: from 560 to 650 MTA PNL

Antwerp: from 400 to 680 MTA PNL

2004

ILLA successfully started-up the second 200 MTA phenol train of FСFС Phenol Plant in Mailiao, Taiwan, having the advanced ILLAs technologies of Amoxidation and FAN 2000 cleavage. See the reference here.

2003

Location: Borealis Polymers Oy Phenol Plant in Porvoo, Finland

Project Scope: Complete revamp of Kellogg two-step (K&BR) process of technical CHP Cleavage in boiling acetone medium using ILLA two-step process of homogeneous CHP cleavage, FAN-2000TM. The BE Package was completed and delivered to the client in 2003. The project is due for completion by 2004-2007.

Project Scope: Completion of the Basic Design for total revamp of the phenol plant based on ILLAs technologies:

Cumene Oxidation;

Phenol Purification based on HAC-process and zeolite catalyst.

     

The startup is scheduled for 2006-2007.

Location: FCFC Phenol Plant in Mailiao, Taiwan

Capacity: Additional 200 MTA PNL phenol train

Project Scope: ABB Lummus Global and ILLA International joint project. ILLA performed the Basic Project for the FAN-2000 process which determines selectivity and safety level of the phenol process. The startup is scheduled for early 2004.

Location: Phenolchemie (currently INEOS Phenol) Phenol Plant in Mobil, Alabama, US

Project Scope: Grass root plant. The plant was started up in 2001. ILLA implemented its IF-96 cleavage process, performed the Basic Design, conducted training of the personnel, and directed the process Startup.

Project Scope: ABB Lummus Global and ILLA International joint project for construction of the FCFC grass root phenol plant. ILLA performed the BE Package and training of the personnel and was in charge of the Startup of Cumene Oxidation and CHP Cleavage processes. The plant was started up in 2000.

Project Scope: Total replacement of Phenolchemie operated technology with ILLAs CHP cleavage process (IF-96). The Basic Design was performed by ILLA for both plants.

Project Scope: Revamp of three key technologies of the phenol process:

Cumene Oxidation;

CHP cleavage (FAN-98 process); and

AMS recovery.

     

ILLA performed the Basic Design, made the revision of the Detail Design, conducted training of the personnel, and directed the process Startup. The processes were started up in 2001.

Location: GE Plastics Phenol Plant, Mount Vernon, US

Project Scope: Complete replacement of Kellogg (K&BR) cleavage technology with ILLAs technology (FAN98 process) aimed at drastic increase of the total selectivity and safety level of the phenol plant with a simultaneous capacity expansion by 40 MTA PNL (from 310 to 350 MTA) which is the largest single capacity plant. ILLA performed the Basic Project for FAN98 process, training of the personnel, and process startup.
